My learnings about the TV and Digital business in South Africa:
-Broadband is very slow and quite expensive – 800MB costs 300Rand (approx $42USD – 5 cents a MB)
-The TV business has very little competition in South Africa from the web and the advertising market is stable.
-Mobile is main form of communication. Mobile web is gaining traction.
-Facebook has over 1.2 million users in South Africa.
-Twitter has a presence.
