Here is a link to a Honda advertisement on the Vimeo site executed in a way I have never seen before. It turned out to be a very effective web video advertising concept (I intended on embedding the video but it did not work unless viewed on the Vimeo site). When you play the video it gently takes over your entire screen instead of just playing inside the video playback area like a TV spot. This is achieved by converting the entire video space to Flash. Very effective. I recommend scrolling through to comments as well once you have seen it.
Another blog discusses the concept. I should point out though that the ‘making of video’ he refers to is the behind the scenes ad agency shoot in the desert and not how they created the flash video version.
What is surprising is that Vimeo does not seem to have the other very innovative Honda ad “Cog” on their site (see embed below). I had to go to Youtube to find it. One step forward. One step back.
